Laura Osnes – “The Midnight Princess Mega-Medley”

최근에 유튜브를 보다가 발견했다. Laura Osnes 라는 가수/배우라는데, 목소리가 Amanda Seyfried 와도 비슷한 것 같은데 어쨌든 굉장히 듣기 좋다.

곡 목록 중간에 디즈니 영화가 아닌 Anastasia 가 끼어있다.

흰색 바이올린

6살 때부터 바이올린을 배우기 시작해서, 초등학교 5학년인 11살에 그만두었다.

부모님 말로는 내가 배우고 싶다고 말했다는데, 초등학생 때 바이올린 레슨을 받은 기억을 떠올려보면 꽤나 귀찮았던 것 같다. 고등학생 때부터 바이올린의 존재를 잊어가다가, 대학생 때 휴학을 하면서부터 다시 시작했는데, 그동안 손이 굳어버려서 지금은 대략 초등학교 2~3학년 때의 수준이 아닐까 생각된다. 3도 음을 낼 수 있다는 점에서는 4학년 정도의 실력을 가지고 있지만, 활의 움직임이나 음의 정확도를 보면 2학년 정도가 되지 않을까 싶다.

VIOLIN

사진은 알리 익스프레스에서 구매한 바이올린인데, 흰색 바이올린을 하나 가져보고 싶어서 55~60$ 을 주고 구매했다. 악기가 별로더라도 관상용(?) 으로 괜찮을것 같아 주문했는데, 나중에 악기점에 가져가 평을 들어보니 정말로 관상용으로 써야할 것 같다는 생각을 하게 되었다. 제대로 연주를 하려면 너트 부분을 더 깎아야 할 것이라고 했는데, 실제로 소리를 내보려고 했으나 각 현들을 구분해서 소리내기가 꽤 어려울 정도였다.

그래도 흰/검 조합의 색깔은 꽤 마음에 드는 바, 돈이 아깝지 않은 구매였다.

Eminem – Stan (feat. Dido)

2000년 발매된 The Marshall Mathers LP 의 3번 트랙이며, 에미넴의 히트곡을 모아놓은 앨범인 Curtain Call: The Hits 에도 수록되어있다.

verse 1,2 는 에미넴의 광팬인 가상의 인물 ‘Stan’이 에미넴에게 쓰는 편지의 형태이며, verse 3은 Stan이 에미넴에게 보내는 음성 테이프, 마지막 verse 4는 뒤늦게 Stan의 편지를 받은 에미넴이 쓰는 답장의 형태이다.

에미넴의 내한 콘서트 때 개인적으로 Space Bound 가 가장 감명깊은 곡이 될 것이라고 생각했으나, 막상 눈물을 흘리게 만든 곡은 Stan 이었다. 해석된 가사를 읽으며 들은 시간이 많아서인지 어느 부분부터 듣더라도 굳이 영어를 해석할 필요 없이 의미가 바로바로 뇌에 꽂힌다.
